We’re super excited to greet this new season with the first wall as a part of our Savage Habbit murals project endeavor which was painted by Li-Hill. Competition amongst humans has been around for thousands of years and with this new series that Li-Hill has been recently working on he references the Olympics as the new form of competition that is more about capitalism and economics then competing itself. Painted in the heart of downtown Jersey City, NJ he mimicked the high speed motion of a Ping Pong player, a sport in which perfection is bred from an early age and winning means power to the representing country. Using freehand fluid techniques he created the illusion and aura of movement surrounding the player in action and beautifully blocked off it off with colors for a subtly cool variation in layers. We’re absolutely thrilled to have been able to work with him and have this piece of art in our streets, so be sure to check out our Flickr for all the progress and detail shots of this brilliant piece.

New type of street art by luis rosenfeldHe polypastes (not wheatpaste, “polypasting” uses polyurethane instead of wheatpaste) one of his enlarged images on the street. The image gets painted over as usual, he then goes back and recovers parts of it by stripping paint off.https://twitter.com/luisrosenfeld

“The crowding also helps in that it discourages focusing on one thing at a time, which conventional art exhibitions tend to foster. Few works in “City as Canvas” hold up to such extended scrutiny. These artists were more oriented to the commercial aesthetics of graphic design and illustration, and it shows in facile technique and the prevalence of extroverted style over personal substance.” — http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/07/arts/design/graffiti-art-at-the-museum-of-the-city-of-new-york.html?partner=rss&emc=rss

Maria Mulata Bird by: yurikamdc https://www.facebook.com/Yurikauno It was inspired by a children’s story told to me by one of the ladies that made the festival posible, and a resident of Getsemaní-Cartagena-Colombia. ” Stories of grandmothers tell that in ancient times , in tropical lands of breezes and cheers, there was a small village , a place where not only men lived, but also exotic animals , including a full color and a beautiful singing bird, that bird had the name of ” Maria Mulata “. Once , by accident, the town got envolved in flames, and the trapped people cried for help. The big and radiant energy bird gathered in herd, and began helping humans, carrying them, from one side to the other, all he could in his peak . In that coming and going through the fire, the smut covered his beautiful colors. The village was saved thanks to the help of the birds. Since that, the Maria Mulata remained black , lost its colors and its sweet song . But when the sun is bright and sits on top a Maria Mulata people can see up close all the bright colors that have accompanied it always… “ We must not lose these knowledge , we must recover these traditional stories of the region, we must not lose our memory, our strength and faith. Getsemaní resist together. more pics: http://yurikauno.tumblr.com/tagged/mariamulata

"Trash in head"
Mural painted  in Barcelona at "La Escocesa" mural festival
I painted this mural like the result of a controversy of the things that fed up our minds these days in our lives.
